Leone Hall Price Park (kid/stroller friendly trails)

Early Saturday morning, I spent time researching kid friendly hikes and stroller friendly trails in our area. I came across Leone Hall Price Park in Kennesaw and we thought we would check it out and see if it lived up to the claim of being stroller friendly. We packed up the jogging stroller, some water bottles, and snacks for the little one and headed out.

The park itself is very easy to find, right off of Stilesboro Road. The parking lot was nearly empty when we arrived at 9:00 AM. There is a nice pavilion with tables and restrooms in the parking lot area, as well as some picnic tables nearby. We are not extremely experienced with hiking or trails as I grew up in flat wetlands and my husband grew up in a flat frozen area, but we do enjoy getting out now that we live in this area. We were expecting more signage when we got there to help identify the trails, but nothing seemed to be clearly marked. We were able to pull up the map online, but we were admittedly not great at navigating with it as there weren't any easily identifiable landmarks or markers in all areas. Some of the paths were dirt/clay paths with tree roots growing through and some were cut grass, but they were all clean and well kept. The central area of the park is the meadow and the outer edge winds through trees and follows a creek. It was a little bumpy for the jogging stroller and some areas required a bit of effort to get it up or down, but it was definitely doable. I would not take a stroller that wasn't meant for a little "off roading". If our 16 month old was a little more experienced with walking, I would have let her walk in parts (especially the meadow). It is by no means a strenuous hike.

We really enjoyed the hour we spent meandering around. I loved that there was a bird feeder set up in the meadow. My favorite part was the creek along the outside. There are some areas where the trail meets the creek and you are able to get in. It would be a great place for the kids(or pups) to cool down in the summer heat. We look forward to more peaceful Saturday mornings there this summer!
